Anna Kendrick gifts BFF with diamonds

CEBU, Philippines – Something borrowed, indeed! Anna Kendrick served as maid of honor at her childhood best friend’s recent Maine wedding — and she brought some red carpet glam with her. The “Into the Woods” star, 29, gifted the bride with a full set of diamond jewelry on loan from Harry Kotlar, insiders reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“Anna felt bad because she’s been working nonstop and couldn’t be there to do all the traditional duties she wanted to do,” says a source close to the actress, who wrapped her new flick “Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates” in Hawaii two days prior. “She just wanted to make her friend feel even more special on her wedding day to make up for it.”

Kendrick herself probably won’t be saying “I do” anytime soon, though. the “Pitch Perfect” star, who dates cinematographer Ben Richardson, has said she doesn’t understand why people marry young.

“My parents got married late, so I just assumed that people didn’t even consider marriage until they were in their 30s,” she told Cosmopolitan in September 2014. “When friends of mine started getting married at, like, 24, I was like, ‘Why? What’s wrong? Do you need a green card? What’s happening?’ I was so confused.’”
