CEBU, Philippines – The Cebu Arts Foundation, Inc. (CAFI) is now accepting entries to the 36th Cebu Popular Music Festival to be held on January 15, 2016. Entry forms, together with the festival’s rules and guidelines, are available at the UV Alumni Center, University of the Visayas, Sanciangko St., Cebu City.
The festival is a love offering to the beloved Señor Sto. Niño de Cebu, in celebration of His feast day and will showcase original Cebuano compositions in three categories: Mga Awit sa Gugma (Love Songs), Mga Awit sa Kalikopan (Environmental Songs), and Mga Awit nga Malamdamon (Inspirational/Gospel Songs). The grand prize is P100,000 for each of the three categories. The Best Interpreter will be given P10,000 and a qualifying prize of P20,000 each for the non-winners.
The 36th Cebu Pop Music Festival, the brainchild of its founder and CAFI President, lawyer Eduardo R. Gullas, has opened opportunities for the blossoming of the Cebuano’s innate and natural talent for music. The festival is open to professional and amateur songwriters.
Deadline for submission of entries is on September 15, 2015.
