CEBU, Philippines - What was Lily James’ first reaction to landing the lead role in Disney’s new “Cinderella” film?
“I was so excited,” the 25-year-old actress gushed to E! News at the Hollywood premiere of “Cinderella.”
“I think I screamed on the phone when director Kenneth Branagh told me. I was totally overwhelmed and then I was really scared and then I was excited again then I was scared again. It went around in a circular motion like that for a long time and still is.”
You’d think the biggest perk of playing Cinderella would be getting the chance to wear her famous glass slippers, but James says that wasn’t the case while filming this flick. In fact, the Brit beauty didn’t get to wear glass slippers at all!
“They were CGI-ed because they’re made of Swarovski crystals,” she dished. “I feel like they should lie and pretend I did where them.”
“It was magical. They fit like a glove,” the “Downton Abbey” star added with a laugh.
As for what James looks for in a Prince Charming of her own, she smiled and said, “I think someone that can make me laugh. That’s probably the ideal Prince Charming. Or just Richard Madden. Look at him!” (FREEMAN)
