Johnny Depp weds Amber Heard

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Johnny Depp, 51, and Amber Heard, 28, are married, E! News confirms. The news comes just a few days before they were expected to wed this weekend.

The picture-perfect lovebirds tied the knot at the actor’s home ahead of the planned celebration on the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star’s private island in the Bahamas, a 45-acre tropical paradise which he purchased in 2004.

Depp and Heard first met on the set of their film “The Rum Diary” back in 2010 (the blond beauty played her now-hubby’s love interest in the film), but they weren’t romantically linked until Depp split with longtime partner Vanessa Paradis in June 2012 after 14 years together.

The couple got engaged in January 2014, and at times have been plagued by breakup rumors throughout the course of their romance.

While the pair was notoriously private upon first coupling up, they became more open about their relationship as time went on, with the Golden Globe-winning actor most recently supporting his lady love when she was honored at the Art of Elysium gala.

Back in April 2014, Depp gushed over his beautiful bride in an interview with Today, and he even sported an engagement ring on numerous occasions.

“She’s sharp as a tack,” he said after saying that Heard is a wonderful girl. “A Southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me.”

This will be the first marriage for Heard and the second for Depp. The gorgeous actress last dated photographer Tasya van Ree for about four years while the “Alice in Wonderland” star was previously married to makeup artist Lori Anne Allison from 1983 to 1985. He also shares two children with ex Paradis, daughter Lily-Rose, 15, and son Jack, 12. (FREEMAN)
