Henry Cavill and Gina Carano split

CEBU, Philippines – Superman is available again. Henry Cavill and Gina Carano have split for the second time, Gossip Cop confirmed.

It hasn’t exactly been all sunny skies for the “Batman Vs. Superman” star and the MMA-fighter-turned-actress. They first began dating in September 2012, only to go their separate ways the following summer. Cavill immediately moved on to date Kaley Cuoco, but that fizzled out before it could really get going. Then, just a few months later in October 2013, he was spotted out with Carano again, looking quite smitten as he shared a bottle of vino with her on a romantic date in Rome.

Then, in January 2014, they took their relationship to the next level: They got a dog together.

They picked up the Akita pup from in Arkansas and seemed to make a great impression on the breeder, who posted a picture of Cavill and Carano with their new furry friend alongside a glowing message.

“It was so great working with Henry and getting to meet him as well as Gina was truly a treat,” the breeder gushed. “Both Henry and Gina are genuine and a joy to be around. It was truly an honor to add them to our extended family and thank them for their patience in meeting us and our children.”

The general consensus was that buying a dog meant these two were in it for the long haul this time around, but it seems that not even the power of a puppy could keep them together.
