CEBU, Philippines – Mrs. Philippines-Globe (MPG), one of the biggest beauty pageants for married women in the country, recently launched a fashion project for a cause.
Dubbed as the W.I.N. (Women In Need) Foundation Fashion Project 2014, the initiative aims to raise funds for the country’s official representative to the Mrs. Globe Finals, Dr. Stephanie Sitoy. A paediatrician based in Cebu, Dr. Sitoy is set to compete in the international pageant to be held at Shenzhen, China on December 8.
“Celebrating beauty, culture, goodwill and charitable acts through pageantry and competition, Mrs. Philippines-Globe continues to empower women as movers of society. As a primary fundraiser of the W.I.N. Foundation, we hope that through this project we can inspire confidence and resilience among women and rescue those who are suffering from all forms of abuse,” said Morena Carla Cabrera-Quimpo, national pageant director of Mrs. Philippines-Globe.
The fashion project auctioned 36 pieces from the Spring 2015 Collection of celebrated Cebu-based designer, Philipp Tampus. Modelling the stunning bridal gowns and dresses on the runway were the Mrs. Philippines-Globe beauty queens.
The proceeds of the fund raising auction will go to the online voting of the Mrs. Philippines-Globe representative, which will then benefit the W.I.N. Foundation.
The W.I.N. Foundation is a primary fundraiser of Mrs. Globe. It is an outreach that helps women and children who suffer from all kinds of abuse – physical, emotional, financial or spiritual, recover their self-esteem.
The W.I.N. Foundation Fashion Project was held November 8 at the Manila Room, Marco Polo Plaza, Cebu City.
The event was organized by Event Visions Inc. and presented by ORO China Jewelry, Isuzu Cebu, Inc., Marco Polo Plaza, Pino! Filipino Cuisine, Level Eight Bar and Zee Lifestyle Magazine. (PR)
