CEBU, Philippines – The first and only nature and wildlife series on Philippine television is now on its seventh year.
The “Born to be Wild” team, led by hosts Doc Ferds Recio and Doc Nielsen Donato, has travelled the entire Philippines and neighboring Asian countries to bring viewers close encounters with the wild.
For the program’s seventh anniversary, Doc Ferds and Doc Nielsen go on dream journeys to Central Europe and South Africa.
Although he’s been a veterinarian for more than two decades now, Doc Nielsen is still excited to see animals for the first time. The wild vet finally fulfills his dream of seeing the Big Five of South Africa, and majestic marine mammals like the Southern Right Whale. Another must see from Doc Nielsen’s journey is his face-to-face encounter with none other than the Great White Shark!
Doc Ferds Recio, on the other hand, explores the streets of Europe to see how cities are adapting to the changing environment. In episode one, Doc Ferds finds himself in Venice, where he witnesses a city built around water with its endless canals. With its world-renowned beauty, the city must still work around nature to ensure its own survival from threats of flooding and subsidence.
This November, join Doc Ferds and Doc Nielsen as they discover the wildlife of South Africa and learn more about the environment from Europe’s history.
