Ashley Tisdale weds musician

CEBU, Philippines -  Ashley Tisdale secretly married fiance Christopher French on September 8, the actress confirmed via Instagram. “Best day of my life!” she gushed, alongside a snapshot with her new husband. “Introducing Mr. and Mrs. French, September 8, 2014.”

Tisdale, 29, and musician French got engaged last August on the 103rd floor of the Empire State Building in NYC. “He had been planning on it for awhile,” a source said at the time. “She knew it was coming but she is so happy!”

Indeed, Tisdale – who wore a cap sleeve dress with a full skirt and a flower crown – was over the moon. “Best night of my life,” the Disney alum tweeted. “We’re on top of the world.” That same month, the actress showed off her engagement ring on the red carpet at the 2013 InStyle Summer Soiree in West Hollywood on August 14.

The new spouses first met in December 2012 and via mutual friends, according to an insider. “I think from the moment that him and I met, I just knew it,” Tisdale gushed in an interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest in December 2013. “I was like, ‘Ok this is the guy,’ and he knew the same thing. It doesn’t get any better. I just can’t explain it. It’s all natural between us. With other relationships you’re just kind of trying too much to make it work.”

“I didn’t think it would happen that quickly,” she added. “I think I’ve obviously been in long relationships in the past, but I think because of knowing what I wanted, I wouldn’t have gone into a relationship, if it wasn’t what I wanted. And I think from the moment that him and I met, I just knew it.”

Tisdale was the guest of honor at a Miami, Florida bachelorette party in May. She was joined by several close friends, including her former “High School Musical” co-star and best friend Vanessa Hudgens (who also served as a bridesmaid on the big day).

This is the first marriage for both. Tisdale was briefly linked to Boys Like Girls’ Martin Johnson in 2012 and previously dated “Step Up Revolution” director Scott Speer until their split in December 2011.
