Tom, Jonalyn and Carla headline Vietnam Star Tour

CEBU, Philippines -  Following the rising popularity of GMA Network’s dramas in the South East Asian region, Kapuso stars Tom Rodriguez, Jonalyn Viray and Carla Abellana are primed to headline the third Vietnam Star Tour this month. With their internationally successful and groundbreaking series “My Husband’s Lover” reaching Vietnamese television, Tom and Carla have since garnered a multitude of fans in the country. Jonalyn, meanwhile, sang the original songs, “This Is Not Goodbye” and “For A While” which were used in the soundtrack of the show’s Vietnam airing. The series is currently seen on Today TV, one of the largest and first free-to-air TV stations to air Filipino dramas in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Star Tour is a joint effort of GMA Worldwide, Inc., a subsidiary of the Network that manages the syndication of programs and movies to foreign markets, and International Media JS Company (IMC), one of the leading multimedia groups in Vietnam, and the creator of Today TV. The tour also marks the celebration of IMC’s sixth anniversary.

To start off the tour, the three Kapuso celebrities have been invited to showcase their talents at the IMC anniversary party, with Tom and Jonalyn performing individual song numbers and Carla hosting a segment of the program.

They also attended a charity event before heading off to meet their fans and the local press at a press conference last Friday.

Completing their Star Tour is a television appearance on the local talk show Movie World last Saturday.

With more GMA shows breaking into the Vietnamese television landscape, Kapuso artists have continued to gain recognition among the local audience. (PR)(FREEMAN)
