CEBU, Philippines - With former Miss Cebu, Kris Tiffany Janson’s victory in the Binibing Pilipinas pageant and other Cebuana beauty queens bagging national crowns this year such as Miss Earth Philippines Jamie Herrell, Miss Teen Earth Philippines Vanessa Mae Walters, Reyna ng Aliwan Steffi Rose Aberasturi and Mrs. Globe Philippines Dr. Stephanie Tiro-Sitoy, the search for the next representative of Cebu City, Miss Cebu 2015 becomes even more exciting.
For the past years, Miss Cebu has been known to produce women with substance not just with the beauty and brains but the heart and passion to serve as well. Now on its 31st year, the city’s most prestigious pageant has begun its search.
Applicants must be a Filipino citizen, single, at least 5’3” in height, of good moral character, at least a graduating high school student this school year, fluent in English, a resident of Cebu for no less than three years, 18 years of age by October 1, 2014 and not turning 25 on December 1, 2014, willing to travel and fully commit to a one-year term reign, and not a participant of other beauty searches for the duration of the pageant.
The 12 ladies who will top the screening will undergo invaluable seminars and trainings to gain further knowledge and awareness on the different sectors and industries of Cebu City as well as workshops for personality enhancement, all of which will transform them into better individuals and equip them with the knowledge and confidence for the most awaited coronation night, a highlight during the Sinulog week, in January 2015. Miss Cebu is a project of the Cebu City Government thru the Cebu City Tourism Commission.
Qualified applicants may fill up the application forms available at the Cebu City Tourism Commission (CCTC) office at the 2nd floor of the Rizal Museum and Public Library in Osmeña Boulevard through Cinbeth Orellano (4124355), the Mayor’s office at the Cebu City Hall through Juvy Montecillo (2556984), on Miss Cebu’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/misscebupageant and at the Student Affairs Office of the different high schools, colleges and universities in Cebu City.
