Salvador soon to be Regal baby
Janella Salvador’s star is set to shine even brighter this year. After getting known for her role in the widely-popular daytime drama “Please Be Careful with My Heart,” she was signed up for several product endorsements. Last Sunday, she had a TVC shoot for a new endorsement, which paid her double the talent fee she got from her first endorsement. She also signed up with a multi-picture contract with Star Cinema and this week, she is also set to ink another multi-picture contract under Regal Entertainment. She can do movies for both companies since she signed non-exclusive contracts with them.
When Janella auditioned for her role in “Please Be Careful with My Heart” two years ago, she immediately impressed director Jeffrey Jeturian, who chose her for the role of Richard Yap’s daughter. She proved that Direk Jeffrey made a good choice since Janella turned out to be to be a competent performer. The show’s production team had another young actress in mind but direk Jeffrey prevailed over them and insisted on Janella. She’s not only beautiful but talented as well.
Incidentally, the cast of “Please Be Careful with My Heart” will have a thanksgiving concert on July 25 at the Araneta Coliseum. Joining Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap and the rest of the cast are singers Erik Santos, Juris, and Richard Poon.
To get free tickets to the “I HEART YOU 2: The ‘Be Careful with My Heart’ Anniversary Thanksgiving,” Kapamilya viewers may line up at the ABS-CBN Center Road on July 21 and 23. Tickets will be issued from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

We had a chance to talk with Harlene Bautista and Romnick Sarmenta backstage before the start of the premiere of the movie “Kamkam” last Sunday at the SM Block Cinema in Quezon City. Harlene finally broke her silence on the case she filed against her director Dante Nico Garcia for estafa, qualified theft and falsification of corporate documents. The arraignment of director Garcia will be on July 30.
Harlene said it was with a heavy heart that she decided to file cases against the director who had been her friend for 15 years. In fact, Direk Ga is even her kumpare. She said it is not her intention to malign Garcia when she filed cases against him. “Kailangan lang namin gawin ito kasi malaking halaga ang involved (P15 million) which we loaned from the bank. Besides, the incorporators of our Heaven’s Best Entertainment Productions are asking what happened to the money,” she said.
She added that the amount involved was supposed to be spent for projects like a movie and a TV show, among others. The indie film commenced shooting, and is now was finished. The TV show did not materialize at all. Harlene said it took her great courage to file the cases because she wanted to know where the money went. The amount involved remains unaccounted for and has yet to be liquidated.
Meanwhile, Direk Ga was able to post bail for his temporary liberty.
Even if they are experiencing some problems, Harlene and Romnick are happy with their latest project “Kamkam” which got a grade A from the Cinema Evaluation Board and was rated R-16 without cuts by the MTRCB. The movie had a successful premiere last Sunday which was graced by the stars of the movie led by Jean Garcia, Allen Dizon, Sunshine Dizon, Jackie Rice, Jim Pebanco, Tony Mabesa and Kapuso stars Joyce Ching, Hiro Peralta, Rita De Guzman and Lucho Ayala.
“Kamkam” opens today in theaters nationwide.
