CEBU, Philippines - Stephanie Perkins, the author of the international bestselling novels “Anna and the French Kiss” and Lola and the Boy Next Door,” is coming to the Philippines for book signing events on July 5 at 1 p.m. in National Book Store, SM City Cebu.
Perkins’ international bestselling debut novel “Anna and the French Kiss” was hailed as National Public Radio’s Best Teen Reads in 2010 and Cybils Award Finalist for Young Adult Fiction in 2011 among others. It is a contemporary young adult novel about Anna Oliphant, a high school student with a great job in Atlanta, whose parents decide to send her to a school in Paris. Although she hesitates at first, Anna learns to love her new life in her new boarding school as she meets a set of cool friends that includes Etienne St. Claire, who quickly becomes a best friend. All of a sudden in the City of Lights, Anna falls in love with Etienne, but unfortunately, he is taken.
“Lola and the Boy Next Door” is the companion novel to “Anna and the French Kiss” where two teens discover that true love may be closer than they think. Designer wannabe Lola Nolan believes in costumes as fashion—the more expressive the outfit, the better. Everything is pretty perfect including her big plans for the future until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood. Perkins has always worked with books — as a bookseller at first, as a librarian, and now as a young adult novelist. She was born in South Carolina, raised in Arizona and attended schools in San Francisco and Atlanta. Currently, she lives with her husband in North Carolina. “Isla and the Happily Ever After,” her final companion novel, will be released in August.
