Marian, ‘overwhelming choice’ for new endorsement

With her flawless skin and  sparkling beauty, it should not  come as a surprise that Marian Rivera was the choice of the dealers of the Personal Collection to be the endorser of the Sof & Mmmm fabric conditioner.

At the launching and contract signing of Marian for the sweet-smelling fabric softener last Tuesday, March 4, the executives of Personal Collection said the Kapuso Primetime Queen and “Carmela” lead actress was the overwhelming choice of their dealers to be their brand ambassador.

This, they learned from a survey that they conducted among the dealers of Personal Collection which was done nationwide. When asked who they believe is the most beautiful and is the perfect choice as the brand ambassador, Marian emerged as the number one choice.

The company, which had been in the direct selling business market for ten years, had a number of products both for home and beauty regimen.

Since she is endorsing a fabric conditioner, which is a home product, Marian was asked if she also washes her own clothes. She said she doesn’t have household help so she does her own laundry. She also said that when it comes to washing her undergarments, she believes she should do it herself.

Marian is also thankful that she has a new endorsement, and is looking forward to having a fruitful business relationship with Personal Collection.

Also held last Tuesday night was the grand presscon for the new GMA sirena-serye titled “Kambal Sirena” starring Louise Delos Reyes and Aljur Abrenica.

This is a new challenge for Louise since this is her biggest break as a lead actress after being the headliner in past shows like “Alakdana” and “Mundo Mo’y Akin.”

Portraying the role of a mermaid is not an easy task for Louise. She is no swimmer, so she had to learn to swim like a professional and be a diver as well since she has numerous underwater scenes required of her role. But even if the role proved to be quite daunting, Louise is giving her all, knowing that it is her make or break bid as a major actress in the Kapuso network.

This is the first time that the network is doing an original series about mermaids although they have done “Dyesebel” which had Marian playing the iconic role of the mermaid created by Mars Ravelo. Louise considers herself fortunate in having been chosen by her GMA bosses to be the lead actress in the new series directed by Dondon Santos.

She knows that the success or failure of “Kambal Sirena” rests on her shoulders, that’s why Louise is never leaving anything to chance. She is working hard to prove herself worthy of the big break.

Two mainstays of the top-rating and long-running gag show “Bubble Gang” are contenders in the Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Comedy in the forthcoming fifth Golden Screen TV Awards to be held on March 21 at the Teatrino at the Promenade (Greenhills).

They are Sef Cadayona and Albert “Betong” Sumaya. In a brief interview on the taping of “Bubble Gang,” Sef expressed elation over his nomination. When he was just new on GMA, he was asked what program was his choice to be part of and he picked “Bubble Gang.” He was glad at the chance given him to be part of the show which has helped hone his acting skills. With his stint in “Bubble Gang,” Sef is quite confident that his acting has improved a lot, especially in comedy.

On the part of Betong, he admitted feeling nervous when he learned that he and Sef were nominated at the fifth Golden Screen TV Awards.

He is excited with his nomination and considers it a great honor to be part of the elite list of nominees for the award.

“Bubble Gang,” which is now o its 18th year, is likewise nominated as Outstanding Gag Show. It had won the award three times.
