Laguna’s hidden beauty in ‘Biyahe ni Drew’

PR - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Kapuso host Drew Arellano proves that a person doesn’t have to travel far to have an enjoyable weekend getaway with family or friends. In today’s episode, GMA News TV’s “Biyahe ni Drew” will explore the province of Laguna.

With its numerous spectacular tourist spots, Laguna has everything a traveler is looking for. There is the Villa Escudero, a classic vacation spot located on the border of San Pablo, Laguna and Tiaong, Quezon. A favorite family outing destination, Villa Escudero boasts of its well-maintained huts and lunch buffet beside the majestic Tabasin Waterfalls. According to an international website, the villa is one of the Top 21 Must-Visit Hotels in the Philippines.

And for outdoor adventures, ultimate budget traveler Drew Arellano leads the way to Nuvali in Sta. Rosa to try wakeboarding. Drew enthuses that one doesn’t have to travel to CamSur to experience wakeboarding. For just P250, a person could wakeboard for one hour. But if he wants to do it the whole day, just shell out P995 for eight hours of water fun.

A travel is never complete without tasting local delicacies. Drew searches for must-try food in Laguna such as espasol and the famous buko pie. Drew will take a crack at making the famous kesong puti, the staple of every meal in the province. In the town of Sta. Cruz, there is the unique Bibingka Abnoy. Will Drew be able to take the delicious yet not so aromatic local delight?

Know the answers this Friday in “Biyahe ni Drew,” now on its new timeslot at 8 p.m. on GMA News TV. (FREEMAN)
