TV5 looks into HIV and AIDS in ‘POSITIVE’ primer

CEBU, Philippines - In its aim to enlighten audiences with facts about HIV and AIDS and to herald the first ever HIV-themed drama series on Philippine television, TV5 will air a primer that will showcase real-life stories of people living with HIV (PLHIVs) and people living with AIDS (PLAIDs).

From the first known case of AIDS in the country, to the fast rising numbers of HIV infections today, the primer ‘POSITIVE: Ang Dapat Mong Malaman’ will present facts and figures about HIV, interviews with PLHIVs and their families, the rationale behind the conception of the Thursday primetime drama series “Positive,” and the preparation of the whole cast and production staff in creating the series to be able to not only entertain, but give its audience awareness about HIV and AIDS.

The primer will also feature behind-the-scenes from their immersion with PLHIVs, and interviews with cast members and production staff.

“POSITIVE: Ang Dapat Mong Malaman” airs today at 4 p.m. and tomorrow, 10:00 p.m. on TV5.
