CEBU, Philippines - Earlier this week, Paris Hilton released “Good Time,†the first single from her forthcoming, untitled album. The song features production from Afrojack and guests raps from Lil Wayne, along with a bikini-clad video.
When she talks about dance music, she references DJ kings such as Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Calvin Harris and David Guetta. She says this genre has been a part of her life for a long time. “I went to my first rave when I was 16 at Roseland Ballroom,†she tells Rolling Stone. “I just remember the glow sticks, the clothes. I’ve always been a rave girl.â€
Hilton’s first album, simply titled “Paris,†was released in 2006. The 11-song set spawned two singles, “Stars Are Blind†and “Turn It Up.†Now she’s signed to hip-hop label Cash Money (Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne) and is infusing her dance-pop with rap. “I’m really proud of the track I did with Snoop [Dogg],†she says.“I’m so happy to be on Cash Money. They’re like family. They look out for me and protect me.â€
For those wondering what Hilton’s inspiration is, it’ll come as no surprise that she’s looking inward. “I draw from my own personal experiences. I’ve traveled the world,†she says of the album’s themes. “I wanted to write songs that are fun. And I also want to write songs people can relate to.â€
