CEBU, Philippines - If you answer “Gwiyomi!†when someone asks you the sum of? 1+1, then you know you have been bitten by the Gwiyomi bug!
This month, Ayala Center Cebu invites you to get busy with hand signs and all things cute on Sept. 8, 7 p.m. at The Terraces.
Korean singer Hari of the digital track “The Cutie Song†released last February 18, 2013 will be in the city to perform live to her Cebuano fans.
The Korean slang “gwiyomi†used in reference to anything cute was inspired by a series of hand movements involving the counting of numbers. Korean rapper Jung Il Hoon uploaded a separate version of the song on YouTube that caused the increase of the video’s hype and popularity.
The repetitive lyrics mimicking a child’s nursery rhyme had inspired local celebrities like Heart Evangelista, Vice Ganda, Alodia Gosiengfiao and Aryana star Ella Cruz to make their own version of the Korean song.
Everyone is welcome to join in the gwiyomi craze at The Terraces from 7 p.m. onwards as Hari will be promoting her single and meeting “Gwiyomi players†at Cebu’s premiere destination for lifestyle, dining, entertainment and shopping. (FREEMAN)
