CEBU, Philippines - Kapuso artist Drew Arellano has a job that many people would envy – hosting a travel show. Every weekend since 2005, Drew has explored various towns and cities in the Philippines in his trips for his programs Balikbayan on QTV and recently in Weekend Getaway on GMA News TV.
In all his travels, Drew has stayed in affordable hotels, eaten in hole-in-the-wall restaurants that serve the best of the town’s specialties, shopped for unusual pasalubong and engaged in some of the most memorable activities that many travelers can only hope for.
He has also discovered hidden gems throughout the country: Coves, caves, lakes, waterfalls, hot springs, gardens, adventure parks, beaches and trails that most Filipinos haven’t even heard of. He is the travel guide many would want to tag along on their next weekend adventure. He is the ultimate biyahero.
This 2013, Drew shares all of these secrets with viewers in his newest travel program entitled Biyahe ni Drew. This weekly, one-hour program will show viewers that even with a shoe-string budget and in just a couple of days, anyone can have a memorable vacation in the Philippines.
In this program, Drew will take viewers on a personal tour of various places in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. He will give viewers various options on where to stay, where to eat and where to go based on his experiences and with helpful tips from the locals.
Biyahe ni Drew airs its pilot episode tonight, 10-11pm, on the country’s leading news channel, GMA News TV Channel 11. (FREEMAN)
