CEBU, Philippines - ABS-CBN bagged four awards in the 2012 Migration Advocacy and Media Awards for its programs and movie that promoted and championed the welfare of overseas Filipino workers.
The “Lipad ng Pangarap” episode of “Krusada,” anchored by Henry Omaga-Diaz, won as the Best TV Show (Episodic) that featured various stories of success as various plights of Filipinos abroad.
“TNT,” on the other hand, was named Best Documentary as it tackled the issue on human trafficking. It was produced by ABS-CBN North America Bureau Chief Nadia Trinidad.
“A Mother’s Story” starring comedienne Pokwang and directed by John-D Lazatin, won as Best Film while “Bida ang Pasko: On Duty” created by ABS-CBN Global emerged as Best Advertisement.
The Commission of Filipino Overseas (CFO) launched the MAM Awards in 2011 in celebration of the Month of Overseas Filipino and International Migrants Day in the country. The awarding ceremonies will be held on Tuesday (Dec. 18) 6 p.m., at the SSS Magsaysay Hall in Quezon City.
