DMCI Homes to hire over 1,000 for largest condo project in Cebu

The P24-billion Kalea Heights project is also DMCI Homes’ largest condominium project to date. Units at Kalea Heights will be priced between P5.7 million and P14 million, catering to a diverse market segment.

CEBU, Philippines — Property developer DMCI Homes has announced plans to hire over 1,000 skilled workers for its first residential condominium project in Cebu City, Kalea Heights.

According to DMCI Homes president Alfredo Austria, the company is seeking construction workers, engineers, architects, accountants, sales agents, and office staff as it prepares to commence operations for the 4.6-hectare development located on Good Shepherd Road in Barangay Guadalupe.

“We are committed to serving Cebu’s property market for the long term. This includes creating jobs and building a strong team of Cebuanos,” said Austria.

DMCI Homes distinguishes itself by designing and building its condominiums with its in-house team, setting it apart from most developers who outsource construction work.

The company is a subsidiary of DMCI Holdings, Inc., founded by the late Engr. David M. Consunji, renowned as the “Grandfather of the Construction Industry” and “Builder of Landmarks” in the Philippines.

The company holds the prestigious title of being the Philippines’ first Quadruple A real estate developer. This distinction, awarded by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board, is the highest license granted to contractors meeting stringent government requirements in financial capacity, building experience, and technical expertise.

“We’ve been preparing for this project for years, even hiring engineers from Cebu to train at our Metro Manila project sites. Now, they’ll bring their skills back to Cebu,” Austria added.

Kalea Heights is the largest condominium project in Cebu City, with over 1,000 units planned for construction over the next few years.

The P24-billion development is also DMCI Homes’ largest condominium project to date. Units at Kalea Heights will be priced between P5.7 million and P14 million, catering to a diverse market segment.

The development is designed with four distinct districts: Dawn, Dusk, Summit, and Azure. Its open space is nearly three times the size of Cebu’s iconic Fuente Osmeña Circle.

The first phase of the project will feature the 41-story Leia Building, offering unit sizes ranging from 29.5 to 88.5 square meters.

Designed with a modern tropical aesthetic, Kalea Heights aims to blend urban convenience with nature-inspired living. The company aims to deliver the units to homeowners by 2029.

“We aim to stay in Cebu for the long term, continuously developing projects,” Austria emphasized.

Kalea Heights joins DMCI Homes’ growing portfolio of quality resort-inspired communities across the Philippines, including developments in Mega Manila, Baguio City, Boracay, and Davao City. Each project showcases world-class craftsmanship honed through D.M. Consunji Inc.’s over 70 years of construction and development expertise.
