CEBU, Philippines — The Philippines is set to power up the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 as it makes a highly anticipated comeback under the banner of PARTNERPhilippines, a flagship initiative positioning the country as a global business hub.
From January 7 to 10, 2025, eight premier Philippine tech companies will showcase innovations at the world’s most influential tech event in Las Vegas, Nevada.
CES 2025 offers a premier platform for the convergence of tech visionaries, brands, and disruptors.
Highlighting the country’s robust electronics industry, the Philippine delegation aims to demonstrate its capacity for cutting-edge technology and sustainable innovation.
Leah Pulido Ocampo, Executive Director of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), stressed that the Philippines’ participation marks a critical step toward increasing its global market share in consumer electronics.
“For decades, the electronics sector has been a key economic driver for the Philippines. CES 2025 provides an unparalleled stage to showcase our expertise and seize new opportunities in the global market,” Ocampo said.
The Philippine Export Development Plan 2023-2028 underscores a strategic focus on targeted interventions within Global Value Chain (GVC) clusters, particularly industrial machinery and transport. This includes advancing semiconductors, aerospace, automotive, and maritime sectors.
In 2023, the Philippine electronics sector began to rebound, achieving export sales of US$41.91 billion, contributing 57percent to the country’s total exports. Preliminary data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed electronic exports reaching US$27.4 billion from January to August 2024.
Top-tier Philippine tech companies, including Airspeed, Automated Technology Philippines, Inc., and Xinyx Design, will highlight a spectrum of innovations. Exhibitors aim to promote sustainability and position the Philippines as a key player in the global green revolution.
Dr. Danilo Lachica, President of Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation, Inc. (SEIPI), projects a five percent growth in the electronics sector for 2025.
“The government’s proactive measures have fostered confidence in the industry and addressed investor concerns, ensuring sustained growth,” Lachica said.
Representatives from Xinyx Design and Ionics EMS, Inc., expressed optimism about leveraging CES to demonstrate their cutting-edge capabilities in IC (integrated circuit) design and smart manufacturing.
The Philippine delegation, led by CITEM in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-CIG), Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), and SEIPI, invites the global community to visit booth no. 50128 at CES 2025.
By merging innovation with sustainability, PARTNERPhilippines reinforces the Philippines’ position as a premier trade destination and a rising force in global technology. — (FREEMAN)
