CEBU, Philippines — The online portal for Filipino events and promotions, Bayanihan.com was launched globally in New York.

Founded by Cebuano Anthony Leuterio, the platform aims to unite Filipinos worldwide, offering a centralized source for events, gatherings, and business promotions tailored to the Filipino community.

The global launching held at the Thomas Edison Hotel in New York, in the United States was graced by Francisco Hilario Lardizabal, the Tourism Director Attaché from the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) in New York, who praised Leuterio and the team behind Bayanihan.com for creating a dedicated space to keep the Filipino community connected.

Lardizabal’s presence also reflects the tourism’s support for the newly introduced online portal, Leuterio said.

“At Bayanihan.com, our mission is to provide a (common) platform where Filipinos can stay updated on local events and gatherings while promoting homegrown products,” Leuterio said during the launch.

“We aim to drive growth opportunities, especially for small Filipino businesses, and foster a sense of community among Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Filipinos abroad,” he explained.

The word "Bayanihan" represents the Filipino spirit of communal support and collaboration, and Bayanihan.com seeks to embody this by promoting Philippine events, products, and services to audiences worldwide.

Leuterio emphasized that “Bayanihan is the Philippines’ answer to uniting all OFWs worldwide, providing a platform where Filipinos can come together to support each other’s businesses and celebrate Filipino culture.”

The website will serve as a venue where Filipinos and enthusiasts can connect, share experiences, and engage in discussions about cultural celebrations.

It is also committed to fostering the Filipino spirit of “bayanihan”— unity and collaboration—while helping preserve the country’s rich traditions and culture.

From local fiestas to international celebrations, Bayanihan.com ensures that every Filipino gathering is highlighted, fostering unity and preserving the culture for future generations.

“Organizers are welcome to promote their events, along with relevant news and photos, on the portal for cross-promotion in other countries,” added Leuterio.

Additionally, the free portal provides a platform for event organizers worldwide to attract sponsors and gain support for their events.

"This portal helps festivals attract greater financial support from sponsors, enhancing the relevance of their events and drawing more exhibitors,” Leuterio added. Bayanihan.com is duly registered and patented by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPO).

According to Statista, there were about 2.33 million overseas workers from the Philippines in 2023, about twice as much as the previous year.

In the Philippines, Bayanihan.com portal was introduced to over 600 real estate stakeholders during the National Real Estate Convention 2024 held in Cebu last October at Nustar Resort & Casino.
