BPO giant records hike in volunteer engagement
CEBU, Philippines — French outsourcing giant Teleperformance (TP) has concluded its annual support on the Brigada Eskwela 2024, a yearly initiative of the Department of Education (DepEd) that mobilizes various sectors of society to help with and volunteer to prepare public school facilities.
In Cebu, a team of volunteers supported the Brigada Eskwela at Iba Elementary School.
Overall, Teleperformance has recorded a 26 percent increase in volunteer engagement this year with 242 volunteers from its various locations across the Philippines demonstrating selfless dedication through the spirit of volunteerism.
“We are proud to see a continued increase in volunteer hours each year. We’ve recorded 1,500 volunteer hours for this year’s Brigada Eskwela for on-location activities alone. That does not include all the time spent on the preparations and coordination for the actual school activities,” said TP’s Chief People Officer and Citizen of the World (COTW) Chairperson Jeffrey Johnson.
Aptly dubbed TP Dream Builder, the event brought together TP volunteers from nine locations who helped to clean school grounds, repaint classroom walls, and repair furniture.
“Seeing how our employees have generously shared the gift of time and how truly passionate they are to support our philanthropic efforts makes us proud,” Johnson added.
This year, TP’s select adopted schools include Camaman-an Elementary School in Cagayan de Oro, Bunawan Aplaya Elementary School in Davao, Jose Divinagracia Sr. Elementary School in General Santos City, Sum-Ag Elementary School in Bacolod, Gibraltar Elementary School in Baguio, Sto. Domingo Integrated School in Pampanga, Molino Elementary School in Cavite, and Bambang Elementary School in Pasig.
