Trevolution Group to expand Phl operations
CEBU, Philippines — Global travel management outsourcing firm Trevolution Group announced to expand its operations in the Philippines, looking at hiring over a thousand people at the back of the promising tourism sector in the country.
“Our objectives for the Philippines this year are very ambitious – we are now focusing on a local expansion and active hiring, expecting to gain over a thousand people in Cebu and over 500 in Manilla. To provide more value for the market, we are now working on offering our travel products to the local clientele, including the introduction of the financial options to help finance air travel,” said Alex Weinstein, founder of Dyninno Group of Companies.
As part of the company’s expansion in the Philippines, a new product will be launched—an all-in-one travel super-app called Dreampass, designed to further enhance customer engagement, Weinstein added.
Dyninno Philippines Cebu handles the Dyninno Group of Companies’ travel business arm called the Trevolution Group.
Trevolution Group, which operates ASAP Tickets, Skylux Travel, Oojo, Triplicity, Dreamport, and other major travel brands, registered a stable 10 percent growth in flight sales across the Philippines during the first half of 2024, repeatedly highlighting this robust market as one of the leading travel destinations for international airline passengers.
Over 90,000 airline tickets have been sold, spanning both traditional leisure tourism and the growing visiting-friends-and-relatives (VFR) segment, generating over US$120 million in gross bookings. This accounts for nearly 20 percent of the company’s total gross profit in the first six months of 2024.
Gross travel bookings, which refers to the total dollar value, generally inclusive of taxes and fees, amounted to US$120.62 million, accounting for 19.8 percent of the Group’s total gross profit;
The number of unique tickets issued reached 90,181, increasing by 9.6 percent compared to the first half of 2023.
The economy class contributed 98.5 percent of all flight bookings and went up in terms of demand by 9.6 percent.
Meanwhile, the share of round-trip tickets increased by 2.5 percent and amounted to 79.7 percent of all tickets sold.
Historically, the Philippines has been a top travel choice for the Group’s air passengers, and currently, the demand for transpacific flights departing from the country is also growing significantly and surpassing the levels seen before the pandemic.
Thus, in the first six months of 2024, Trevolution Group reported a 48.3 percent increase in outbound tourism compared to the same travel period last year, which indicates the market’s rapid recovery and progressive economic growth.
The company observed that more Filipino travelers choose foreign destinations that are closer to home or prefer to travel domestically showing almost a threefold increase in flights taken across the country compared to the first half of 2023.
It further noted that family-friendly destinations and extended weekend trips are stealing the spotlight while simultaneously boosting the local tourism sector.
According to the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT), the country received over 3.32M international visitor arrivals from January to July of this year with over a 15 percent increase from the same travel period in 2023.
Based on ticket sales in the Philippines, air passengers are increasingly making last-minute decisions, with fewer than one-third of travelers purchasing tickets more than three months in advance—a percentage nearly unchanged from the 26 percent observed in the first half of 2023.
Meanwhile, nearly 15 percent of passengers buy their tickets within 10 days of travel, reflecting a slight three percent increase in last-minute bookings compared to the first half of 2023.
Trevolution Group, which operates International Travel Network, ASAP Tickets, Skylux Travel, Dreamport, Oojo, and other travel brands, has established itself as the market leader in the travel business, specializing in the visiting friends and relatives’ segment.
Over 840,000 unique airline tickets and vacation packages were sold by the companies under the Trevolution Group brand in 2023, making it the fourth-largest airline ticket consolidator in the US. (CEBU NEWS)
