CEBU, Philippines — The renowned Okinawa steakhouse brand, Yappari Steak, has launched its first branch in the Philippines, situated at Cebu’s newly re-opened destination TOPS.
This move reflects the brand’s confidence in Cebu’s robust tourism prospects, highlighting its commitment to investing in Cebu’s tourism industry.
Yappari Steak, which originated from Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture in Japan, makes its entry to the Philippines by opening the first branch at TOPS.
“Cebuanos don’t need to travel to the Land of the Rising Sun - Japan, cause they have the chance to taste the high-quality premium cuts of Yappari Steak grilled through Mt. Fuji’s lava stone,” said Moriyama Etsuo, Yaparri Steak Philippines proprietor.
Mori said Cebu is the ideal location for its first branch in the country because of the distinct taste of Cebuanos in terms of food.
He added that Yappari Steak offers fresh meat also from Australia, which is not frozen but is air freight directly to Cebu.
“Cebuanos [and tourists] should try it one time. If you do not try, you will regret it. This is the best steak house in Okinawa—the best steakhouse in the world. The price is very reasonable,” he added.
Adding to Cebu’s array of sophisticated restaurant choices, Yappari Steak offers the best part of the meat, which includes the top blade. Yappari Steak officially opened its first branch in the Philippines at TOPS in Cebu City on May 5, 2024.
“We offer lunch and dinner to all of those who want to try the best steak house in Cebu,” said Mori.
Yappari’s menu offers the top blade cut of meat for its brand’s steaks Yappari Steal, Kaburi Steak, Mix Cut Steak, Hamburger Steak, and chicken steak, among others.
Steak cuts are available at 100 grams, 150 grams, and 200 grams. All meals are inclusive of rice and soup.
Yappari Steak is one of the fastest expanding franchise steak houses in Japan and has recently marked the locations of Singapore and Australia. Internationally renowned singer David Pomeranz who recently did a one-night-only concert at TOPS was one of the first to try the Yappari Steak.
Yappari is a Japanese word that means “as I thought” or “absolutely.”
The iconic TOPS was reopened on February 14, 2024 bringing a modern touch and improved facilities to the old destination.
Originally built in 1985, TOPS gained popularity due to its stunning vista overlooking the Metro Cebu cities from an elevation of 2,000 feet above sea level. It has also become a favored spot for romantic outings, benefiting from a refreshing mountain breeze.
The newly-built five-story structure at TOPS now offers a panoramic 360-degre view of Cebu Island.
