CEBU, Philippines — Filinvest Land Inc., (FLI) announced its plans to further develop the mixed-use City di Mare (CMD) development at the South Road Properties (SRP). This expansion comes as a response to the burgeoning potential in the local real estate market.
In a partnership with the Cebu City government, FLI launched the newest residential building of its Sanremo Oasis mid-rise development.
Following the success of buildings 1 to 7 at Sanremo Oasis, FLI will commence the construction of building 8.
“We look forward to welcoming more Cebuano families to Sanremo Oasis. We are optimistic about what the future holds for this community, as well as in CDM,” said Aven A. Valderrama, FLI’s first vice president and brand product head for medium-rise buildings.
“Our partnership has grown by leaps and bounds, and now we’re on our eighth San Remo Oasis building,” said Cebu City acting Mayor Raymond Alvin N. Garcia, as he underscored Filinvest Land’s rapid progress in CDM.
Sanremo Oasis is one of two Filinvest residential developments in CDM, a 58-hectare premier joint venture development with the Cebu City Government that fosters a complete and modern live-work-play lifestyle in the Queen City of the South.
CDM served as the venue of the 2023 Sinulog Festival and again in January 2024 and is home to Cebu City’s first-ever pump track for active bicyclists as well as IL Corso, Filinvest Land’s mall in Cebu.
Sanremo Oasis is known for its resort-style amenities that are already in place, yet Building 8 offers exciting new features.
According to Valderrama, the level will have commercial spaces for cafes, dining options, or other useful services, while residents can also enjoy a roof deck garden for relaxation or social gatherings. As added security and convenience, smart home features, like digital locksets will be installed, she disclosed, adding every unit is connectivity-ready – ideal for remote work and learning. All these make Sanremo Oasis primed for property appreciation and ready to tap the area’s lucrative rental market,” she noted.
Moving forward, Filinvest Land continues to see further growth in CDM and Cebu City in general.
“We have no intention of slowing down. We will sustain this growth momentum in Cebu. We see bright prospects here, and it will continue to play a major part in the company’s growth directions,” Valderrama said.
Recently, Filinvest Land fulfilled Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama’s earlier directive and completed the desilting of a major drainage line in SRP, in collaboration with the local government.
Filinvest Land also raised the sidewalk gutters near CDM and expanded these to benefit pedestrians. Additional concreting of entrance humps is also scheduled soon.
Planned civic spaces at CDM are also envisioned to serve Cebu City’s residents, similar to parks, and may even serve as emergency evacuation areas if needed, disclosed John Paul Escario, FLI AVP and Cebu area general manager.
FLI also plans to allocate one area for versatile sports fields, while another will be dedicated to leisure spaces. These leisure spaces will encompass a range of offerings such as bazaars, cultural spots, food stalls, and temporary pop-up attractions. — (FREEMAN)
