Infrastructure and road networks that connect Valencia to the rest of Cebu
CEBU, Philippines — Most metropolitan areas are made up of compact urban living. Cebu, having more than one central island, makes it a unique and diverse metropolitan. Of the number of islands Metro Cebu hosts, the two most significant and busiest are Mactan and Cebu, with a bustling business center and exciting real estate prospects.
Mactan, in particular, strikes a balance between city living and the beachside Cebu lifestyle. With the rapid developments in Metro Cebu, there’s been a need to establish more infrastructure to allow people to move seamlessly between Mactan and Cebu. Today, there are three functional road networks that connect Mactan to the rest of Cebu.
Mactan-Mandaue Bridge (Sergio Osmeña, Jr. Bridge)
Known to locals as “the first bridge,” the Mactan-Mandaue Bridge is the first road infrastructure to connect Mactan to the main island of Cebu.
The bridge spans the Mactan Channel effectively linking Lapu-Lapu City in Mactan to Cebu’s Mandaue City. The bridge boosted Mactan’s economic activities and overall quality of living for residents on the island, which at the time, was relatively behind that of the main Cebu island. The opening of the bridge signaled how any property in Mactan will appreciate, generating good returns for those early investors.
Marcelo Fernan Bridge
Cebuanos also have a moniker for the Marcelo Fernan Bridge: The Second Bridge. It traverses the same route as the Mactan-Mandaue Bridge, connecting Lapu-Lapu City and Mandaue City on Mactan and Cebu, respectively.
What sets it apart is its scale and engineering design. The Marcelo Fernan Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge with four vehicle lanes flanked by two pedestrian lanes. Beyond its functionality, the bridge has become a popular spot for photographers and travelers searching for panoramic sights.
Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX)
The Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway or CCLEX serves as Cebu’s newest landmark. The 8.9-kilometer bridge decongest traffic in the existing bridges connecting Lapu-Lapu City to Cebu island and also expected to revitalize economic activities in Cordova.
The CCLEX incorporates Cordova more closely to the Metro Cebu network. Previously considered an inaccessible area to and from the main Cebu, Cordova now has some of the desirable property developments in Mactan.
Valencia: The Crown Jewel of Mactan
A prime development of Vista Land, one of the leading integrated property developers in the country, Valencia is a multi-tower development that will transform Mactan Island’s cityscape within five hectares of prime real estate in the heart of Mactan. With quick access to the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway, Valencia is poised to be known as the crown jewel of Mactan in Cebu.
Valencia’s strategic location is one of its core advantages. With the recent additions to the island’s road networks, Mactan is now closer to the main island, the country, and the world. The Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the second busiest in the Philippines, is stationed at the center of the island.
Like a carefully crafted diamond gem sitting atop an elegant engagement ring, Valencia is positioned in the northern portion of Cordova where it meets Lapu-lapu City, a place where a ring of road networks traverses one another. This connects residents within and beyond the island.
Due to the influx of infrastructure developments surrounding Valencia, it is now destined to become the nearest urban growth center from Cebu City. Owning a piece of Valencia is akin to owning a piece of a prized possession that will appreciate in value over time.
