Belo Medical kicks off expansion plans in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines —  Amid the threat of high inflation and fragile health security, beauty industry leader Belo Medical Group foresees promising growth in the Philippines post-pandemic as it announced expansion plans starting in 2022.

Belo Medical Group founder and president Dr. Victoria “Vicki” Belo led the opening of the company’s biggest and most complete clinic in the Philippines, in Cebu on October 20, 2022, an indication of her confidence in the country’s beauty or self-care industry in the Philippines.

During the formal opening of the 500 square-meter clinic space on the ground floor of Taft East Gate in Cebu, Belo also announced the company’s plan to open its first clinic in Mindanao, in Davao in the next few months.

The Belo Medical Group has been in the industry for 32 years and is the leading medical aesthetic ambulatory clinic in the Philippines.

According to Belo, picking Cebu to host its biggest and most complete clinic by far, with 15 treatment rooms, is also her way of giving back to Cebu—her birthplace. Most importantly, Cebu’s strategic location as the center of Southern Philippines is worth the multi-million peso investment.

Aside from having the biggest space, Belo Cebu clinic also houses the complete lineup of advanced equipment for beauty enhancements.

Prior to the pandemic, Belo Clinic was located at The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu. Now that the economy is bouncing back, Belo said the company opted for a bigger and more spacious location following the changing consumer preferences and lifestyle after the two-year health crisis.

The Belo Clinic in Cebu took its design inspiration from the pristine waters of Cebu. Its color palette and interiors were inspired by the turquoise waters that surround the island, while the fun pops of orange, yellow, and red are a reference to Cebu’s annual and highly anticipated Sinulog Festival.

In 2013, Belo Medical Group became the first ambulatory clinic in the country to have been given international accreditation by the National Accreditation Board of Hospitals and Healthcare Providers. It was re-accredited in 2016 and, to this day, is the only clinic in the Philippines to have received this recognition.

The company started in 1990 when Belo opened her first 44-square-meter clinic in Medical Towers, Makati. Now, it operates 14 clinics nationwide.
