CEBU, Philippines — The Be Group of Companies announced to launch three projects this year, including an integrated development situated in the uptown district of Cebu City.
After noting a positive outlook for recovery, Be Group president and chief executive officer (CEO) Grand Benedicto said more projects will be pursued starting this year.
Following the launching of its residential tower in Punta Engaño, Mactan Island, the “Balai: By Be Residences,” the company’s next move is to open a residential project in Mandaue City, and an integrated project which will host a hotel, retail facility and residential units near Baseline area.
The Be Residences Uptown is a mini-township development situated in a 3,2000 square meters property. It will build 400 residential condominium units and 180 hotel rooms. It is a two-tower development, with podium and retail facility, 1000-capacity convention center, a 2-storey boutique lifestyle hub, among other sophisticated amenities.
Benedicto expressed confidence of Cebu’s real estate going forward post pandemic, saying tourism is on track albeit pending, waiting for the foreign arrival recovery.
With Be Resorts both in Mactan Island and Bohol are so far doing good considering the still weak tourism movement, Benedicto said expansion plans in Palawan and Siargao are now ready as soon as the market peaks up.
Just like other tourism-related developers, Benedicto expects tourism rebound in short term, as vaccination is actively rolled out around the world.
The company owns properties in Palawan, Siargao and also in Malapascua Island. According to Benedicto, this landbank is enough for its tourism investments for now.
However, he said the group is also not closing its doors to acquire properties in good destinations like in Dumaguete City or Negros Oriental and other desirable destinations.
