CEBU, Philippines — The management of Bai Hotel in Cebu clarified that the property is not up for sale.

In an interview with the hotel’s vice president for operations and general manager Alfred Reyes yesterday, he clarified that owners are keeping the business amid the challenging times.

In fact, the management has already called the attention of the Manila-based real estate broker to refrain from posting on social media, so as not to confuse the public, Reyes said.

The broker earlier posted on social media that the property is up for sale at P10 billion, which the hotel management vehemently denied.

Developed by Luckheart Development and Management Corporation, a consortium of Cebuano capitalists, Bai Hotel is the largest city hotel in Cebu in terms of accommodation.

The 668-room four-star hotel is trying to stay afloat despite the challenging times with tourism arrival at its lowest.

Although it is struggling business-wise, just like any other hotels, the owners have no plans of disposing it, Reyes clarified.

Bai Hotel, with 12 conference and meeting rooms, is a member of Europe-based Worldhotels, an exclusive group of independent hotels, for global connectivity and revenue opportunities. Worldhotels brings together a handpicked portfolio of 450 properties in 250 destinations and 65 countries.

Aside from guests, Bai Hotel is also allocating a portion of the property with 15 units service offices allocated for budding start-up entrepreneurs.
