CEBU, Philippines —  Following the reopening of its food market locations in Cebu and Mandaue, Sugbo Mercado Food Bazaar Inc.(SMFBI) unlocked the gates of its Lapu-Lapu City branch.

The reopening also paved the way for bigger location, with in place safety and health protocols duly approved by the authorities, said SMFBI managing director John Paul Chiongbian.

Located across Gaisano Capital Mactan, Collinwood Subd Rd, Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, the new normal food market leverages on its outdoor dining concept with over 30 vendors to choose from.

“We’ve come a long way, as Cebu’s first weekend food market, to reach our goal of being the biggest year-round operation -- the longest-running one in Cebu, to date,” added Chiongbian.

From setting up limited-time pop-up locations in Cebu Business Park and South Reclamation Properties to establishing Mandaue’s first container van food park, @themarketbysugbo, and spinning off to our street food concept, @StreetFoodbySugbo, we’ve also since branched out to “Mactan for @sugbomercado_lapulapu.”

Its enhanced sanitation and security protocols include the “No Mask, No Face Shield, No Entry” rule. A contactless registry via QR Code is required for contact tracing, as well as quick-scan temperature screening and hand disinfection.

Safety barriers are in place for the mutual protection of its vendors and guests on top of standard social distancing measures.

Meanwhile, delivery is also available through @foodpanda_ph and @lebmobile.ph apps as well as curbside pick-up through participating vendors.

Dine-in guests are welcomed in controlled numbers in consideration of table and seat spacing mandates.
