Grab Car resumes services in Cebu
CEBU, Philippines — Grab Philippines announced the resumption of Grab Car services in Cebu, following the announcement of the government placing Cebu City under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
“As Cebu City graduates to GCQ, transportation will remain to be a beating lifeline of our economy, and Grab will remain an enduring partner to the city of Cebu by providing safe and reliable transport services to the commuting public. While public health restrictions ease, let us not lose sight of our commitment to safety - not just for ourselves, but for our communities as well. Many of us have been impacted by the pandemic, but we hope that with our GrabProtect Program, as well as our other initiatives for our riding public as well as our driver-partners here in Cebu, we will continue to safely reopen our economy,” said Raymond Dejan, Grab Philippines Sr. City Manager for Vis-Min.
GrabCar resumes services in Cebu City and Talisay City to provide safe and reliable mobility solutions for its commuting public and help Cebu safely reopen its economy.
To further Grab’s commitment of helping the Cebuano economy, for the first two weeks of GCQ, GrabCar rides paid through GrabPay will have a 50 percent fare reduction to be able to meaningfully assist the essential service workers, small business owners, and the general commuting public in going about their daily activities.
Likewise, Grab will also be waiving its commission to its Cebu-based driver-partners for the first two weeks of GCQ in the city.
As Cebu City reopens its economy, Grab is one with the city in protecting the lives and livelihoods of the Cebuanos, assured Dejan.
GrabProtect - Grab’s safety and hygiene program, will be thoroughly implemented across all GrabCar services to ensure our communities of Grab’s deep commitment to safety most especially now that we are navigating to the new normal.
