CEBU, Philippines — Farm machineries and equipment worth P11.43 million will soon be given to agrarian reform beneficiaries in Central Visayas.
The Department of Agrarian Reform announced yesterday its regional office had recently signed procurement contracts for several farm equipment.
The DAR will acquire the machineries under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP), mode of providing vital tools to help increase the farm productivity of its farmer-beneficiaries.
DAR regional head Marion Abella met with companies last May 20 in Cebu City for the contract signing.
Ford Tractor Philippines Inc. inked a deal worth P3.144 million for three units of 35 HP four-wheel drive tractor.
Suki Trading Corp. signed a contract price of P4.179 million for three corn husher and shellers; two mechanical rice transplanters, one portable feed mill, 12 mechanical reapers, three multi-cultivators/hand sugarcane cultivators and a coffee parchment huller machine.
P.I. Farm Products Inc. entered into a P3.156-million agreement for a 35 HP tractor, 12 hand tractors, three floating tillers and three mechanical rice threshers.
Universal Commercial Corp. also signed a contract price of P0.96 million for four shredders.
Abella said the DAR continues to provide support services that will help improve the lives of its farmer-beneficiaries.
