CEBU, Philippines — Belmont Group expects to hire at least 500 workers as diversifies its business interest by venturing into its first integrated theme park project in Calajoan, Minglanilla, Cebu.
Belmont One is a P500 million project, situated in 3.5-hectare property that will host a hotel, restaurants, retail and shopping centers, and a world-class theme park to be called Anjo World. It will also open the first Snow World in Cebu.
Set to initially open before Christmas, the Belmont One Commercial Complex aims to be the first integrated family entertainment park in Cebu, said Belmont One president Chester Lim.
The theme park Anjo World will serve as the high-point of the project, owing to the high demand for family get-away vacations and escapades among Filipinos.
Anjo World features a 160-foot ferris wheel, a spinning roller coaster, a grand carousel, bumper cars, bumper boats and thrill rides such as the tower drop and the viking as well as family and kiddie rides like teacups and frog jump.
Snow World is an outdoor theme park, which provides entertainment to the public experiencing winter in Cebu’s tropical setting.
According to Lim, the Snow World will be the first of its kind in Southern Philippines, that will offer ice slides and other activities.
Anjo World and Snow World are set to open before Christmas, added Lim.
After 45 years in the hardware retail business, through Belmont Hardware Depot, the Belmont One is the company’s first entry tourism-related business, although it started to enter the real estate business in the recent years. (FREEMAN)
