Millennial making waves in global fashion exports

CEBU, Philippines — A millennial Cebuana is making good in her exports business, making internet her gateway to reach discerning global market in fashion accessories.

Susanne Vanya Verallo’s handcrafted pieces of bracelets, earrings, cocktail rings, are now found the luxury shops in New York, Los Angeles, Zurich and London.

A Milan-trained designer, Verallo only used the internet, largely social media to get the world’s attention of her products since she started in 2016.

Amid the struggling export performance due largely to competition, Verallo a graduate of Interior Design at the University of San Carlos (USC), is having her hands full from increasing orders abroad.

She is currently working with an artisan to create her shell inlay fashion accessories which prices fetch from $95 to $180 a piece.

Verallo believes that getting the attention of the affluent market, those that appreciate handmade and intricate pieces of accessories is only a matter of positioning and branding.

With the help of partner-artisan, Verallo’s pieces captured the whim of customers with taste and knack for class.

Her accessories are made of seashell offcuts and overruns from fashion and furniture industries. (FREEMAN)
