CEBU, Philippines —  AboitizLand ushers in job opportunities for the locals of Cansomoroy in Balamban as the real estate arm of the Aboitiz Group kicks off its biggest residential project in the locality.

The homegrown developer on Wednesday broke ground for the phase 1 of its Foressa Mountain Town project.

AboitizLand Project Development manager Jose Marie de la Paz said the Foressa Mountain Town project will give Cansomoroy a significant boost in terms of employment and tourism.

Dela Paz added that some locals are, in fact, already employed as tour guides for Foressa Trails.

The materials used in the mountain resort community are produced by local contractors.

Cansomoroy barangay captain Rolando Bacalso lauded AboitizLand for choosing their barangay to be the home of their biggest residential project. He is grateful that this project can also help the people in the barangay as well as in the preservation of their natural resources.

The groundbreaking ceremony was also graced by AboitizLand Residential Business Unit head Vivien Vicente-Limjoco, Vice President for Construction Management Honesto Medina Jr.

An hour and a half drive away from Cebu City through Transcentral Highway, the 250-hectare sustainable mountain resort community is a perfect place for nature-lovers to live in.

Homeowners can enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains, ocean, and neighboring islands, while adventure-seekers can immerse to nature, go camping, stargaze at night, and a lot more.

Foressa Mountain Town welcomes not just nature-lovers but also extreme hobbyists. Launched in 2017, the mountain resort community also introduced Foressa Trails, which is composed of four bike trails and three hiking trails. Since its opening in October last year, it has already hosted international obstacle race, trail runs, and motorbike event.

Foressa Mountain Town serves as a community that values adventure and relaxation.

Limjoco said it is a first in the country to have this kind of community where the main amenity is the nature itself. They guarantee that natural resources such as the cave and stream located within the vicinity will be preserved.

For Limjoco, Foressa Mountain Town is a second home and an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. - Oliver Julius T. Lape, Online Reporter
