CEBU, Philippines- Global Star Motors Corp. has now brought luxury car brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram and Dodge to Cebu being the first dealer appointed by Auto Nation Group outside Metro Manila.

ANG is the general distributor of these American and German marques.

Officials from Global Star and ANG said last week the Cebu market is ready for these iconic car brands which cater to the high-end consumers.

They inaugurated on Saturday the showroom and service center for these premium car brands in Nivel Hills, Cebu City.

ANG President Felix Ang said the group's Cebu dealership with GSMC is its first entry into the country's major regions as it aims to expand its market.

Lawyer Augusto Go, Global Star chairman emeritus, said the opening of the dealership is going to make Cebu as a location of choice for global automotive brands.

Francisco Benedicto, Global Star chairman, also said: "This is a new opportunity for us to contribute to the economic gains that our country has achieved in the last few years which has allowed us to be identified as an emerging Asian economy."

Edward Vincent Onglatco, president of GSMC, noted that Cebu has long had a loyal following of these iconic brands, which is the reason of the firm's optimism on the presence of its dealership center here.

The dealership center in Cebu will hopefully attract prospective buyers from Visayas and Mindanao.

"They won't have to travel to Manila just to bring their dream cars home," said Onglatco.  (FREEMAN)
