CEBU, Philippines – Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu, one of the lead hotels for the upcoming Asia Pacific Economic Conference Summit 2015, is 100 percent ready to host the biggest and most prestigious event to be held in the Philippines this year.
"We are 100 percent ready in all aspects - product, service, safety and security to provide world-class hotel service to the APEC delegates," said Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu general manager Nishan Silva in a press conference yesterday.
The five-star convention hotel, owned by SM Holdings and managed by Carlson Rezidor, will host two meetings and two dinner events during the APEC season from August to October this year.
Specifically, Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu will play host to the APEC Senior Officials Meeting on September 7 to 8, and the Transport Ministerial Meeting on October 8 and 9.
Two important dinner events will likewise take place in the hotel during the duration of the APEC Conference.
Because of this, the hotel has allocated majority of its 400 guest rooms to APEC delegates and visitors who might extend their stay to explore Cebu and neighboring islands.
According to Silva, except for the 50 guest rooms that are occupied by long-staying guests, all the other rooms will be blocked for APEC delegates.
Aside from the intensive preparation done by the hotel including the P5 million renovation program of its function halls, ballroom, and food and beverage outlets, it has also gained support from its headquarter in the United States and regional office in Singapore to ensure its readiness for the APEC Summit 2015.
The APEC is a group of 21-member economies that meet regularly to support sustainable growth and prosperity in the Asia Pacific region.
Some 3,000 to 4,000 delegates are expected to arrive for the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in November 2015.
In addition, there will be 300 to 400 CEOs from the 21-member economies and 400 members of the press who will be attending the summit.
Sectoral meetings such as the Senior Officials' Meeting, Human Resources Ministerial Meeting, Women and the Economy Summit, Sectoral meetings on Energy, Food Security, SMEs, Science and Technology, Transportation, Oceans, and Finance will take place prior to the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting.
