CEBU, Philippines - SM City Cebu and SM City Consolacion will hold the yearly Green Retail Agenda on October 2 and 10 respectively.
SM Prime Holdings Incorporated, Philippines’ largest mall developer and operator, is pushing for higher awareness on business sustainability amid climate change. The Green Retail Agenda will focus on disaster risk resilience, logistics programs and sustainable best practices to empower the retail business in preparation for the unforeseen effects of climate change.
As a member of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction – Private Sector Partnerships, SM Supermalls seeks to educate, create awareness, and emphasize action points within the private sector and other key stakeholders to ensure disasters will be prepared for and recovered from.
The theme for this year’s conference is The Business Case for Disaster Risk Reduction, emphasizing the need to prepare for the unforeseen to protect businesses and the community as a whole. Conference speakers will focus on disaster risk resilience, preparedness, tools and best practices to strengthen and empower the retail business and community amidst natural disasters.
Topics will include Emergency Response in the Midst of A Disaster, Importance of Awareness and Access to Information in times of disasters, and SM Supermalls’ presentation on its own Emergency Response Group.
The Green Retail Agenda is set on October 2, 2pm at SM City Cebu Conference Hall, and on October 10, 2pm, at the Event Centre in SM City Consolacion. (FREEMAN)
