Local entrepreneurs open high-end Japanese resto

Ehda Dagooc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The upbeat business ambiance of Cebu, specifically in tourism and food related ventures, has prompted local entrepreneurs to pool their resources and invest on an authentic Japanese restaurant.

The group, led by Kenny Jung has invested a significant amount to put up a new addition to Cebu’s choices of Japanese semi-fine dining restaurants, with confidence that the metropolis’ fast economic growth needs to be complemented with good restaurants.

Despite the existence of established Japanese restaurants in Cebu, as well as the entry of out-of-town investors to partake of the good opportunity, Jung said the recently opened “Moshi-Moshi” restaurant located along Ma.Luisa Road in Banilad still offers wider opportunity for growth in this kind of business.

Initially targeted for Cebuanos who love to eat out in an expensive Japanese restaurant, Jung said now Moshi-Moshi is attracting not onlylocal diners, but also tourists, and business transients, among others.

Cebu, which is emerging as an internationally-known destination for business and leisure, should also offer good and fine restaurant outlets, to complete its claim as a legitimate world-class city.

Jung said it is easier for the restaurant to make profit and return-of-investment (ROI) as its primary goal, as his partners, who loves Japanese cuisine insist for quality of the brand.

This early, because of its high-profile clientele base, Jung said the restaurant has already got interested parties, offering for partnership and inquiring franchise offers for expansion outside of Cebu.

However, he said the group has maintained its goal to perfect the quality of its food choices, investing more on high-tech equipment for “yakiniku” menu choices, which the restaurant is highly proud of.

Yakiniku, or “grilled meat” is a Japanese term which, in its broadest sense, refers to grilled meat dishes.

Jung, said the restaurant is trying to make its name to have the best “yakiniku” menus in Cebu.

Although, it is branded as sleek and high-end, Jung said “Moshi-Moshi” Japanese restaurant gives its distinct Cebuano flavor, in offering all its choice with affordable and competitive prices. — (FREEMAN)
