CEBU, Philippines - In keeping with the increasing demand for phablets and smartphones, DTC, one of the Philippines’ leading producers of budget-friendly mobile devices, showcases five new Android-based additions that boast sleeker aesthetics and improved functionality to its existing suite of mobile units.
Included in the line-up are one dual core and three single core smartphones and a dual core phablet.
The five Astroid variants feature larger displays, 2 to 5MP rear cameras, extended cell life and an upgraded 512MB RAM. Starting at an affordable P2,990, these dual SIM smart devices promise longer, more pleasant mobile web browsing and multimedia experience at prices consumers can afford.
“In a country where majority of consumers do not have the luxury of buying a tablet and a smartphone altogether, offering them low-cost phablet options that let them experience the best of both worlds allows us to achieve our goal of bringing high technology closer to the budget-conscious customers,†explains DTC General Manager Ferdinand Buensalida, Jr.
Topbilling DTC’s 4th wave lineup are the 6-inch GT10 Astroid Bullet (P6,990) a phablet that boasts powerful 1.2GHz dual core processors, 512MB RAM, and longer battery life (3000mAh) – similar provisions integrated in the 5-inch, 2500mAh GT9 Pump (P4,990) smartphone. These enable users to enjoy smooth and fast multitasking functionalities, heavy-duty gaming and Web surfing. The generous capacitive screens have been enhanced to offer vibrant images and no-lag transitions.
While a bit smaller, the 4.6-inch GT8 Astroid Bit (P5,290) does not fall short of its phablet counterparts, and packs the same enhanced capabilities. Like the GT10 Bullet, it ships with Android 4.1 Jellybean, while the GT9 Pump, with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
More akin to their predecessor, the 4-inch GT6 Astroid Jack (P2,990) and 4.3-inch GT7 Astroid Max (P3,290) showcase a 1GHz single-core processor, 512 and 256 MB RAM, and 2000mAh and 2500 mAh cell. Both run on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread.
All five units come with useful pre-installed applications and games and chic gift boxes.
Since 2012, DTC Mobile has released a bevy of classic bar phones, QWERTY phones and smartphones on a quarterly basis. This is their first venture into the growing industry of phablet makers worldwide. (FREEMAN)
