CEBU, Philippines - Two abused girls undergoing therapy at Pink Center, a special section of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for abused children, received last week their early Christmas gifts.

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines – Zugbuana, an all female civic organization in view of their “Grant A Wish” program granted the wishes of the girls.

“I am very happy and thankful,” said the eleven-year old grade four pupil after receiving a bicycle and a dress from Sheryl Pagapong, chair of the project.  The girl’s high school scholarship grant will be given after completing her grade school.

On the other hand, a grade seven pupil of a public school undergoing therapy in Pink Center,  also received from JCI-Metro Uptown Cebu President Ray Godilno what she wished for: a college scholarship, Barbie doll, assorted clothes, a pair of shoes and a school bag.

The event was witnessed by other children, their parents and members of JCI-Iligan Dayang Dayang, JCI-Manila and JCI-Ortigas.

“The children deserve the support they need so they will have a bright future,” said Rosemarie Gonato, psychologist of Pink Center.

Inspired by the project, Lanie Razo of JCI-Iligan Dayan Dayang said they will duplicate the same project in their area. (FREEMAN)
