CEBU, Philippines - Food and Beverage Director Stephan Wieprich of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu was among the select new members of La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs inducted during its recent Grand Chapitre this year.
It is with pride and honor that Mr. Wieprich accepted the exclusive membership to the international gastronomic society. His expertise on the field of food and beverage contributes to the organization’s aim to promote fine dining.
Mr. Wieprich, who has been with Marco Polo for three years, is in charge with the operations of the hotel’s restaurant outlets including Café Marco, which is the fifth best restaurant in the Philippines and the only restaurant outside Luzon to make it to the Miele Guide, an annual listing of Asia’s best chefs and restaurants.
The event was presided by Honorary Consul of France Michel Lhuillier, Bailli Delegue for the Philippines, and his wife Amparito Llamas Lhuillier, Bailli de Cebu.
La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is the oldest and most prestigious international gastronomic society devoted to the promotion of fine dining and the camaraderie and pleasures of the table. The by-invite only organization has members from over 100 countries worldwide. Here in the Philippines, it has chapters in Manila and Cebu with members including hoteliers and food and wine connoisseurs. (FREEMAN)
