Honda Cars holds groundbreaking of new showroom
CEBU, Philippines - Honda Cars Philippines Inc. together with Honda Cars Cebu Inc. formally held a groundbreaking ceremony on Mar. 22 for its new showroom facility at A. Soriano Ave, Cebu North Reclamation Area. HCPI President Tatsuya Natsume led several Honda Cars executives in the groundbreaking ceremony to signify the start of construction of the Honda Cars Cebu Showroom. The President was accompanied by the HCCI Chairman Manny Aligada, HCCI President Nemesio Solomon Jr., HCPI General Manager Bobby Ong, HCCI General Manager Alec Bucao, Architect Mike Torres, Engr. Apollo Enriquez and Senior officials of HCCI.
“Alec Bucao, HCCI General Manager, said that the bigger facility will be completed in late 2013 and will open in the early months of 2014. He added that the new showroom will accommodate more customers with more parking spaces, a bigger and better showroom and service bays. Strategically located at a 5,000-square meter lot within the Cebu North Reclamation, the new facility will house the latest models of Honda Cars as well as aftermarket service.
“This new facility was a dream of several years back when Honda Cars Cebu market grew,†says HCCI Chairman Manny Aligada. He added that the growth was fueled basically by Cebu’s economic growth, with the Government being very supportive in the development of the automobile market in the Philippines.
“In an interview with HCPI President Tatsuya Natsume, he stated that the automobile market in the Philippines appears to have entered into a period of strong and sustained growth. Last year, Honda Cars Philippines was able to hit the 180,000 units sales mark despite the twin tragedies in Japan (Tsunami) and Thailand (massive flood) that cut short the supply of cars. If the annual sales breaks the 200,000 units mark, Honda expects further expansion projects in the City. He added that Honda will be working hard to bring the highest quality products and services to the Cebuano motoring public, a commitment that has been stamped ever since Honda Cars started in 1992.
In his speech, HCCI President Nemesio Solomon Jr. said that the prime location of the showroom, which is close to the center of the business district and very near to the gateway of the South Road Properties, is significant as it puts the showroom in a strategic area where it is highly accessible, thereby promoting access to high quality Honda products and services.
Mayor Micheal Rama in his speech congratulated Honda Cars for their achievements and thanked them for their continued commitment and trust in the Cebu City Government. (FREEMAN)
