Globe launches “create your own promo” concept

CEBU, Philippines - Apart from its vision to augment its increasing subscription base and acquisition, Globe Telecom recently launched the revolutionized prepaid innovation with the “create your own promo” concept that is recognized to be the first-of-its-kind prepaid promo available in the Philippines and worldwide.

The telecommunications company visited Cebu yesterday to locally introduce the Globe Prepaid GoSakto, the first and only service in the country that allows prepaid subscribers to create and customize a prepaid promo in accordance to their own preferences.

Globe Prepaid Head Kristelle Dizon said that given the flexibility to tailorfit the promos, the latest innovation aims to empower prepaid subscribers to design their own promo that fits their needs, budget and lifestyle.

“We are thrilled to disrupt the prepaid market with yet another innovation that will change the behavior of today’s subscribers when it comes to availing promos. Taking the consumer insight, we at Globe developed a new service that will give subscribers the power to make their own promo from scratch. Through GoSakto, Globe will be the brand that makes the prepaid promos more flexible, personal and customizable,” she stated.

She noted that they aim to increase the number of promo subscriptions among existing customers through the new prepaid service, grow Globe’s acquisitions further and sustain its double-digit growth every year.

“We want to keep our consumers happy and have them stay with us,” she added. 

As of the end of 2012, Globe Prepaid subscribers reached 16.4 million that is six percent higher from previous year despite highly-challenging prepaid market.

The company has a total of 32 million Globe prepaid and postpaid users including 14 million TM subscribers.

Gross additions posted a quarterly-high of 3.1 million in the fourth quarter that is 14% above third quarter’s level of 2.7 million on the back of value-for-money offers, innovative unlimited promos and competitively-priced international services.

Net incremental subscribers substantially grew in the fourth quarter registering at almost 300 000 compared to the previous quarter with only 33,000.

In 2010, Globe Prepaid launched the SuperAllTxt20 that is considered to be a breakthrough all-network offer, allowing subscribers to connect with other mobile network users through a strengthened all-network and unlimited services.

Globe Prepaid pioneered Load Watch, an innovative service that provides subscribers with real-time information on their load status, permanently avoiding instances of Nakaw Load.

Last year, it introduced its self-service menu *143#, enabling users to easily register their prepaid promos without having to memorize keywords and access codes.

Dizon admitted that by the time they unveiled the *143# service, the company already had envisioned to have a robust launch of another revolutionized innovation this year like GoSakto.

The company had conducted series of researches and studies and spent a year in the making of the new product development.

She cited that they first introduced it in Manila last February 6 and had gained positive market reception so far.

After which, the company conducted roadshows nationwide.

She revealed that Globe users could expect more product innovations to be launched this year.

With GoSakto, subscribers can choose what type of promo to avail whether it is call/text/surf, call and text, call and surf, text and surf or a combination of all.

After choosing their promo, they could select the type and number of calls and texts they need.

They can opt for text within the Globe and Touch Mobile (TM) or across all networks. Numbers of calls and texts can be in bulk or unlimited.

For surfing services, prepaid users could choose, they can also choose between bulk in megabytes of data or unlimited.

They could also select the validity of the calls, texts and surfing services whether it may be good for a for day, a week or a month.

Prepaid users could explore the GoSakto promo combo in over 2 000 possible combinations.

To register and avail of the GoSakto promo, prepaid users could use the mobile phone via *143#, the Globe website at www.globe.com.ph/gosakto or through Facebook.

Creating a community of GoSakto users online, they also have the capability to share their promo through their friends via the GoSakto page on the social networking site, allowing them to name their created promo and have their Facebook friends register to the same promo.

Subscribers who avail of such new promo need not to worry from promo barriers such as maintaining balance, capping and limited price points.

Globe’s latest innovation is available for as low as P7, can co-exist with another promo and is applicable to all types of handsets. (FREEMAN)
