CEBU, Philippines - Local software development firm Orange & Bronze Software Labs (O&B) takes its lead in promoting Agile software practices in all regions in the world.
“O&B has been practicing Agile since its inception. It aligns with our company mission of delivering well-engineered and relevant working software to our clients,” said Calen Legaspi, O&B chief executive officer (CEO).
The firm is going to support the Agile Tour this December which aims to communicate software development practices, and contribute to the understanding of Agile’s vision, and to grow local support by encouraging leadership worldwide. The tour is held annually and is hosted in a variety of cities worldwide through the months of October to December.
Agile is a modern method that is touted as a more efficient way of developing software. Compared to the traditional way of software development, this iterative approach is preferred by an increasing number of companies worldwide because it delivers software capabilities incrementally, lowers risks, and expedites time-to-market.
Agile encourages open communications across the team making software development collaborative, dynamic and interactive.
Legaspi said the company aims to spread the benefits of Agile to local organizations. The software firm is a pioneer in the use of Agile in Asia and has been using the method since 2005, back when Agile was still an emerging movement.
The Agile tour will be held in Bangkok, Vietnam and some key cities in China. Michael Mallete, Vice President for Consulting Services of O&B, will be presenting at the Hong Kong leg of the Agile Tour on December 1st. His talk will be focusing on how organizations can adopt Agile without sacrificing the predictability in planning software projects.
Mallete, a known Agile coach in the Philippines, will be speaking to a group of 100 attendees at the event.
“This is a good opportunity to share experiences with other practitioners and see how Agile is done in other countries. I’m happy to share how we Filipinos have been active in supporting Agile,” he said.
The Agile Tour started in 2008 in France and Switzerland, and has since grown to over 80 cities throughout the world. The event is also supported by the Agile Alliance and the Scrum Alliance.
