CEBU, Philippines - A motorcycle company launched two new motorcycle models in Cebu in its aim to capture a bigger share of the growing motorcyle market.
Sunriser Manufacturing Corp., is confident of achieving its desired goals with the launching of new generation Wonderbike models, Primo-S and Hombre-R that boast of affordability and durability.
The launch of these two motorcycles is part of the 50th anniversary of Norkis Trading Corp. last Wednesday.
Sunriser Manufacturing Corp. which has been in operation in the country for eight years, is an affiliate of Norkis Group of Companies-Philippines, and Luoyang Northern EK Chor Motorcycle Co., Ltd., a joint business venture in motorcycle manufacturing.
Nilo Pamutongan, senior manager for sales and marketing of Sunriser Manufacturing Corp., expressed optimism that the company will be able to reach is target growth given the rising demand for motorcycles.
Currently, Sunriser holds five percent of the total Philippine motorcycle market. Its reported annual growth of 1% is expected to rise with the introduction of the new Wonderbike models.
“Although we are still developing the market, we are very much confident we can grow in the country with the new models. Our technology, pricing and durability are the company’s edge among other brands in the industry,” he stated.
To date, Sunriser has imported 70,000 units for sale around the country and the company aims to reach 100,000 motorcycles by the end of 2014.
With the launch of Primo-S and Hombre-R, Sunriser now has five models with the SR 100 Alpha as the bestseller accounting about 29% of the total sales.
Pamutongan bared that their annual motorcycle sales reaches 10,000 units with VisMin as its major market.
Cebu, he added, is a potential market as indicated by its growing population and the opening of more jobs.
In addition to its current 66 branches and 150 authorized display centers, he said that the company is aggressive in expanding its network and is targeting to open 100 branches in the entire country within the next two years. --- (FREEMAN)
