The fire that hit the commercial area at the Zapote Junction in Barangay Zapote also rendered homeless at least 20 families who were living near the center. No one was hurt.

Arson investigator SFO 3 Roberto Nullan said the fire started at 3:55 a.m. from one of the stalls near the administration office of the commercial center.

The blaze immediately spread to neighboring stalls, mostly beerhouses.

Arson investigator Senior Fire Officer 3 Roberto Nullan said the fire broke out at the Las Piñas public market, located at Zapote Junction, Barangay Zapote, at around 5:23 a.m. The fire was declared out only at 3:06 p.m. A total of 21 fire trucks belonging to the National Capital Region-Bureau of Fire Protection and volunteer brigades assisted in controlling the fire.
