After some soul-searching, broadcaster Manolo Edilberto Jose "Chino" Trinidad
accepted yesterday the offer to be the commissioner of the Philippine
Basketball League.

Currently the Vintage Television executive producer for PBL games coverage,
Trinidad assumes the job vacated by coach Yeng Guiao March 4.

Though nothing was specific about his term, Trinidad said he intends to serve
for one season first before sitting down again with incoming PBL board chairman
Dioceldo Sy to discuss long-term plans.
