It’s that time of the year again for one of Macau’s most spectacular events — the Wynn Macau-20th Macau International Fireworks Display Contest — set to light up the city’s skies on Sept. 13, 14, 20 and 27 and Oct. 1.

It isn’t too of-ten that a hotel really impresses me. This is especially true when we are talking about hotels where the rooms are priced in the mid-200s (US dollars) as opposed to the mid-800s. Most so-called five-star hotels are very good and are far more than adequate. But somehow, the vast majority of them are just not outstanding. Nothing distinguishes them from the pack of other five-star hotels.
